PI joins the Mile High club

October 29, 2008

Hahaha, she is going to kill me for this post title but it’s true!

It’s no secret that PI is a bit of a social butterfly (the understatement of 2008, thank you) The best clubs, the most beautiful people, guest lists, jaunts to the Caribbean to tickle turtles (do I sounMile High Drinks for more than flying.d a teensy bit jealous yet…) Blah.

However there can be downsides to this lifestyle.
Exhaustion.
Erratic diet.
Just generally feeling run down.

This is what happened to her today. Several late nights this week caught up with her and as the day progressed she paled and quietly lost her focus. Finally she admitted that she was wiped out and tormented by a horrendous headache.
I hunted high and low for some painkillers but found nothing until I spied a package that had arrived this morning. Two drinks samples from the Mile High Drinks company.

Originally developed by Richard Hammond (Aircrew, 15 years) and Stuart Roberts (Naturopathic Nutritionist) to counteract the adverse effects of flying – especially long haul – Mile High Drinks are an extraordinary concoction of goodness. Formulated to benefit the

    • Digestive System
    • Circulation
    • The Immune System
    • Travel Sickness and nausea

We had been sent the Red Grape and Cherry Juice flavour and suspecting PI to be dehydrated and hearing her comment that she was feeling nauseous, the ingredients of the Mile High Drink seemed like a great counterbalance – loaded in antioxidants and completely free of anything artificial (and no added sugar – bonus!)

She was, at this point in so much discomfort that with only a heavily lidded, slightly suspicious “What is it?” glugged the entire 250ml contents.

The transformation took about thirty minutes.
From a pale dark-eyed waif sprung back this laughing energised PI.
Even my expectations were surpassed (I used to fly and had long ago learnt the benefits of concentrated antioxidants to counteract the very unattractive and uncomfortable bloating and bleary-eyedness of long haul)
Now, whilst Mile High Drinks do not advertise their products as ‘headache cures’, don’t underestimate what a little goodness can do! Proof’s in the pudding and all that. ;-)

I tasted the other sample and chilled, it was wonderful and not at all like some of those ghastly health drinks that make you feel unwell before its even Mile High Drinks = Yummy!hit the back of your throat! :-)

PI meanwhile has recovered so well that she’s off out tonight.
There’s just no stopping some people.

Thankfully Waitrose have just started to stock Mile High Drinks and there’s one not 400 metres from here. Guess where I’ll be shopping tomorrow? :-D
